About Create & Take Retreat

You’ll love our cozy, inspirational decor. In the dining room, our mural is bright & fun, and the table is spacious enough for everyone to eat together.

The large craft room is separate from the bedrooms, so those early to bed, or early to rise, won’t be disturbed or disturb others. The bedrooms have blackout shades and plush towels are provided for each guest. Our mattresses are sooo comfy!  They’ve been tested and come highly recommended.

Even though we have high-speed Wi-fi, you’ll still want to take a moment to enjoy a hot beverage from the coffee bar before logging on. Our kitchen is cute, and waiting for you to warm up a quick snack or make a scrumptious meal.

The retreat is a work in progress, so each time you visit you’ll see something new or updated. It’s an ideal place to get away & do your crafting.  We can’t wait for you to spend some time here.

Why Guests Choose Create & Take Retreat

Quiet Bedrooms

Our bedrooms are located away from the craft room, so it will be quiet when you are ready to sleep.  The beds were purchased with you in mind & are very comfortable.  You’re bound to wake up refreshed!  Black-out shades are in each room, so there’s no reason to wake with the sun.  We provide extra blankets in the winter, and central air in the summer.  Soon each room will include a vanity area & mirror, which will free up the bathrooms.

Great Location

Our retreat is easy to access, and is located only a few miles off of I-75.  It is in a quiet neighborhood, with a private outdoor space.  Only a few miles away you’ll find a grocery store, fast food, pizza delivery, a Mexican Restaurant, and a quaint bakery/ice cream shop. We are within 15 minutes of Hobby Lobby, JoAnn’s, and Michael’s craft store.  There are 3 quilt shops within 30 minutes of our home. Frankenmuth is only 20 minutes north, where you’ll find the famous Bavarian Inn & Zehnder’s restaurants, unique shops, and Bronner’s Christmas store.  Birth Run is just north of us, and is home to a large outlet mall with several restaurants nearby.

Terrific Craft Room

Guests love the easy access for loading and unloading, in our ranch style home.  The room is spacious & bright, because we have plenty of overhead lights and lots of windows.  There is a tool counter with a Cricut & cartridges, die cut/embossing machine, punches, and metal dies.  We also provide an ironing board, irons, and a counter height table for quilt piecing & cutting. Outlets are located at the end and in the middle of each table grouping, and they include USB ports.  Our chairs are sturdy & comfy, with many rave reviews. There is a TV that everyone can see and a small fridge.  Soon we’ll have a lounge area, and we have future plans to offer a few basic supplies for purchase.

What Our Guests Have to Say

About the Owner

I’ve always been creative & crafty.  As a preschooler, I was frequently grounded from the scissors because I cut small paper scraps – and yes, being grounded from them was torture!  I’d draw stick figures on the walls, because my little brain couldn’t comprehend what was wrong with drawing beautiful figures on that large blank canvas.  Now, I own an entire house, where using scissors & cutting little pieces of paper are encouraged… and I can do whatever I want to the walls!

This is an opportunity that I never thought possible. It’s only by the grace of God (and a very talented family) that this dream became a reality. With the support of my amazing husband and family, we’re able to offer women an opportunity to gather, craft, and hopefully leave rejuvenated. It is my hope that you love coming to our home.  I want you to feel inspired to create something beautiful while you are here, and leave with a renewed spirit.
